• Listen to the Music


Many dance forms are performed to music. Some people will confess to having a wish to dance whenever they hear certain beats. So to begin your trip into the world of dance: find a kind of music that is attractive to you, pick out a song that makes you feel good...like dancing, play the song a few times, listening closely for the different beats.



• Find the Beat
How slow or how fast move of your body while dancing are established by the beat of a song.

To find the beat of a song:

• Listen closely to the strong, intense beats.
• Clap your hands along with the beats to get a feel for the music.
• Try tapping your right foot to the strong beats and your left foot to the feebler beats.


• Move Your Arms
When you think you can feel the beat, relax your arms and try moving them around in time to the music with naturally.







• Add a Few Steps


The steps are important, now you need to try adding a few steps: pick up one foot and then the other, let your feet take you around the floor in small circles.







• Use Your Head


Now that your arms and legs are moving together, you need to add a little bit of movement above the neck. The movement should be softly according to the beat of the music, to make the action appear more natural, let your head nod up and down as well as side to side.
