Polonaise

(Polish: polonez, chodzony; Italian: polacca).

The Polonaise is a very slow dance. This dance has a Polish origin and its name is French for "Polish".

One excellent example of a polonaise is the famous 'Heroic' Polonaise in A flat major; Chopin composed this polonaise as the dream of a magnificent, successful and prosperous Poland.

Polonaise is a common dance on carnival parties. There is a German song: "Polonase Blankenese", composed by Gottlieb Wendehals also called Werner Bohm, which is frequently played on carnival festivals in Germany about this dance.
