Merengue

Its origin goes back to slavery time. Merengue was know since the beginning of the 19th Century; and it is the national dance of the Dominican Republic.
Several types occur, ballroom style is slower and the club style is hotter, erotic and informal, folk style has had minor changes over the years, but still managed to survive.

Merengue is very popular in Latin American and other dance places over the world. Merengue is attractive dance because its dance steps are simplicity comparative to salsa, which is much more complicated to learn.
