Concert dance is also known as theatre dance especially in the United Kingdom, is a category of dances which is presented for a spectators and is not participative. By contrast in Social dance all participants dance watch at the same time.

Concert dances generally performances are choreographed, and danced to set music while most of social dances are not choreographed and are danced to varying music. Some exceptions are un-standardized social dances like argentine tango, salsa or swing.
