CHOOSE A LETTER:
Dance position The position of the man and lady in relationship to each other when dancing. Dancesport An official term to denote dance as competitive, sport activity. Degage Shifting weight from one foot to the other. Demi-caractere A style of dancing that has elements of character dancing but remains within the classical technique. Demi Pointe A ballet term meaning to raise high onto the balls of the feet. If a dancer is wearing pointe ballet shoes, demi pointe refers to standing on half-points, or halfway to full-point. Diagonal movement Movement which is simultaneously lateral (sideways) and progressive (forward/back). Dig The striking or tapping of the back of the heel tap on the floor with no weight applied. The knee remains straight and the foot is flexed. Drag The sliding of one foot toward the other foot on the floor. Drop With a heel up from the floor, literally dropping that heel down to remain on the floor.
