Releve
In ballet, a rising with a spring movement to point or demi-point.

Replace
In brief descriptions of dance figures, replace means replacing the weight to the previous support foot while keeping it in place. For example a "rock back" figure may be described as "step back, replace". Notice that it doesn't require to "replace" the moving foot to the place from where it come in the previous step.

Reverence
A ballet bow or curtsy in which one foot is pointed in front and the body leans forward.

Reverse turn    
A turn to the left.

Rhythm
The regular occurrence of accented beats that shape the character of music or dance.

Rise & fall       
The continuous changing of body elevation through the use of the feet, ankles, and legs.

Rock step       
A shifting of weight back and forth from one foot to the other, in place.

Ronde 
A circling action of the free foot and leg.

Rotational movement   
Movement which causes the body to turn towards a new alignment or orientation.

Rosin
A by-product of turpentine, used by dancers in powdered form on their shoes to prevent slipping.

Rubato
Not in a constant tempo; Frequently accented with varying speeds and pauses.

Rulo
A curl.
